Hamburg // A Creative City

By

Hamburg is a surprising place. We made a stop in Hamburg at the end of our Scandinavian roadtrip on our way home in 2015. A great final of an amazing trip! In this post a small update about the cool places to go. Planning a new visit soon! Hamburg is one of those cities that need ‘unpacking’ neighbourhood by neighbourhood. It’s all there, but this city is revealed best when taking time, wandering or biking in the quarters next to the Altstadt or Neustadt. Favourites are Schanzen- & Karolinenviertel and St. Georg.

Stay in all day // Casa Bonay Barcelona

By

Of course city trips are about exploring a city. But what if you love the place you’re staying at so much, you could stay in all day? Tempting or total sin? To me it’s both. No city trip without exploring the streets, boulevards, museums and restaurants. Going out there, dive in! Surreal // Mad about Surrealism

By

A must go exhibition!

Together with Chantal Smeyers, who’s one of the founders of coworking space ‘De Werkfabriek’ in The Hague, I hit the road to go to Amsterdam. B. Amsterdam; battery cage for starting entrepreneurs or inspiring nursery for the new economy?

Capriole Café // Urban Style

By

Yes. Another hotspot. Can’t get enough of discovering new places. Especially if those places are located on rough industrial areas as ‘De Binkhorst’ in The Hague, my hometown. An area that is developing rapidly. And although these developments are good for the city of The Hague, entrepreneurs, locals and economics, I truly hope the roughness will stay. Happy to see that the location of Capriole Café, spotted and renovated by the owners op Capriole Café, kept a sense of the industrial harshness of the area. I love style and design, but I guess the urban look and feel is part of the attractiveness of this place. Let’s dive in….

Surrender // Tefaf 2016

By

Tefaf 2016. While some argue that the concept of Tefaf should be renewed and the art fair should close its doors to traders who are not focused on high end art only, others state never to change the winning concept of the world famous art trade show. To me Tefaf Maastricht remains overwhelming and a unique event. Be ready for a lot of pixels when visiting Tefaf; a high density art experience…
